Just Like a Dream of LuandaSir: Kangelani´s Sadiki by Red |

Daisy was born in early 2021 as a puppy from the first litter of our Nessa, during the period we all remember as the Covid era. Her sire is Sadiki, a dog imported to Slovakia from Norway. Although those times were far from ideal for socialisation or normal day-to-day life, we tried to make the most of every opportunity the circumstances allowed. During the summer, Daisy attended several training sessions at dog school and gradually began gaining her first experience in the show ring.
From a very young age, it was clear that Daisy was an exceptional bitch. In junior class, she stood out not only for her quality, but also for her natural presence and excellent movement. At the end of 2021, we took her to the European Dog Show in Budapest, where she won the title European Junior Winner 2021 in strong competition. For us, this success was a beautiful confirmation of her quality and at the same time the beginning of a truly remarkable show career.
In the years that followed, Daisy earned multiple Junior Champion titles, adult championships, club winner titles, and Grand Championships in several countries. She returned from shows not only with top awards, but also with judges’ appreciation for her quality, breed type, and elegant movement. Step by step, she achieved the highest possible titles in Slovakia and established herself among the most successful bitches of her breed in our country.
The year 2024 brought one of the most unforgettable moments of our breeding journey. For the first time, we travelled to Birmingham for the prestigious Crufts show, both as visitors and exhibitors. In an entry of more than 250 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Daisy won the Bitch CC as well as the highest possible award, BEST OF BREED. For us, it was a dream come true and at the same time a historic moment, as Daisy became the first Ridgeback from Slovakia to achieve such a significant success at Crufts. It was a day filled with strong emotions, joy, deep feeling, and immense pride — a day we will never forget.
Following Crufts, Daisy had her first litter in 2024, sired by Redford from Brazil, who lived with our pack for more than six months. Today, the puppies from this combination are representing us successfully, already gaining their first titles and gradually entering breeding programmes themselves. We see this as a wonderful confirmation that Daisy is able to pass on her quality not only in the show ring, but also as a brood bitch.
In 2025, Daisy once again confirmed her exceptional quality. As a four-year-old bitch after raising puppies, she returned to the show ring in excellent condition and, in very strong competition, earned the rCC, the award for the second-best bitch. We value this result immensely, as it is further proof of her lasting quality, excellent condition, breed type, and harmonious conformation.
For us, however, Daisy is not only an exceptionally successful show and breeding bitch. Above all, she is a bitch with a balanced and non-confrontational temperament. She is willing to learn, intelligent, perceptive, and very easy to read. She has her femininity, dignity, and also that slight touch of stubbornness that simply belongs to her. She is a great foodie, enjoys attention and comfort, and sometimes makes it quite clear that things will be done her way that day — always, however, with the natural elegance that is so much her own.
At home, Daisy is a devoted member of our family and a beloved companion who wins our hearts over again every single day. She communicates beautifully with puppies, loves to play with her daughter Maddison, and possesses exactly that combination of gentleness, femininity, intelligence, and natural authority that we value so highly in bitches. She is elegant, typical, harmonious, and at the same time a dog whose temperament makes life with her easy, peaceful, and joyful.
To us, Daisy is a true heart bitch — exceptional in the show ring, valuable in breeding, and irreplaceable at home. We believe she will pass on to her puppies not only her beauty, quality, and breed type, but also sound health, a balanced temperament, and the character that makes her such an outstanding bitch in every way. All the more, we are looking forward to her “P” litter with love, pride, and the highest expectations.
When I started looking for a suitable male for Daisy, Draco was one of my selected dogs who came to my mind. I had admired photos of him taken by E. Ossowska, but at the same time I thought to myself that he would be turning 9 in February 2026 - so one never knows whether such a plan can still become reality. Still, I decided to contact both his owner, Anna, and his breeder, Edyta to get as much information as was possible.
Draco´s owner Anna had been very busy with her further studies for several months, but she kindly promised to arrange a semen check for Draco. The results were very positive, which was wonderful news for us. The only real challenge was that Anna and Draco were available only on weekends, so everything depended on perfect timing — and perhaps a little bit of luck — for Daisy’s most suitable mating days to fall exactly at the weekend.
In the end, Daisy surprised us all by starting her season two months earlier than expected. As Daisy is already 5 years old, and because we much prefer spring puppies for the benefit of both the puppies -better socialization, and more time outside in the garden) and everyone involved, postponing this planned combination to another season was not something we wanted to consider.
We started monitoring Daisy’s progesterone levels, and it truly seemed meant to be. On the weekend of 21–22 February, we travelled to see Draco — and yes, we are now happily expecting puppies.
Before our visit, Anna had sent me videos of Draco, and I was truly delighted to see such an active boy in wonderful condition, moving with ease and quality.
Draco is one of those males who was not seen often in the show ring. After completing his adult Championship in Poland, he simply went on to enjoy life with his family. He has sired only two litters, as he was not shown very often, but for me, the number of titles has never been as important as the true quality of the dog himself. I had also seen some of Draco’s puppies at a young age, and I very much liked what I saw.
What I admire most about Draco is his elegance, combined with the overall balance of his body. He has a elegant neck flowing smoothly into well-laid shoulders, a strong topline, a deep and spacious chest, balanced angulation, and truly lovely movement — qualities he still shows with remarkable ease even at 9 years of age.
Edyta his breeder wrote about DRACO:
Some dogs are like „good, old friends”. Draco is one of them. Every time we meet we are happy to see each other. It wouldn’t be possible without his great character that I can describe in three words: gentle, friendly, loving. His owners say about him: sensitive, intelligent, playful, patient, devoted to the family, sociable and “one of a kind”. And I agree with everything! Draco’s parents had perfect characters, both were “coach potatoes” and family dogs but they also successfully proved their qualities at the dog shows. Draco took best from their gens. Not shown much but always with best critiques. Judges described him as: well balanced, elegant, good mover with great temperament. Draco is an active dog with willingness to play and work. He is friendly to other dogs and great with children . He has the qualities each family would like to have bringing a new family member at home.
In the Daisy x Draco combination, I see a harmonious combination of breed type, elegance, balanced construction, and valuable temperamental qualities. We believe this combination will produce puppies with very high quality conformation, elegant movement, excellent health, and above all a temperament that will be an asset not only to their families, but also to future breeding.
